Summer Weather

Well, the summer solstice came in with cold, rainy weather Saturday , but quickly improved, as this week should be back to our normal summer weather. We have had a relatively dry spring and are below normal in precipitation year to date. We have been irrigating for almost two months, but the real irrigation season is about to begin. As can be seen below, this summer is forecast to be warmer and drier than normal.

Weather Forecast

We talk a lot about weather, as it is one of the biggest factors that impact your landscape and maintenance costs. Water is one of the largest costs in commercial landscape maintenance. While it varies based on the water district you are in, all rates are increasing, most faster than other utilities and property maintenance costs. Water conservation is a key part of both landscape and property management, and we are working diligently to assist our customers in conserving water and operational dollars.

Water Conservation

There are significant opportunities for irrigation system upgrades and modifications, as well as landscape modifications, that will reduce irrigation water needs while improving the appearance and long-term health of the landscape.

However, each site and client is different, and the appropriate upgrades or modifications can vary. To assist in recommending the highest-value projects to consider, Pacific Landscape Maintenance Management has established a Water Conservation Department and trained our staff on water conservation services.

This department has developed a Water Conservation service, and each year during our budget process, we evaluate the sites we maintain to propose projects that conserve water and save our customers operational dollars.
