A series of storms — what meteorologists call an “Atmospheric River” — will bring a deluge of moisture into the Pacific Northwest later this week, with potential for flooding rainfall, mountain snow, gusty winds, and travel disruptions across the region.
Enjoy the last few days of dry weather and the changing colors that are peaking now. Trees across the region are in full fall color, but leaves will begin to drop soon — take it in while it lasts.
Heavy rain can severely complicate landscape activities, especially mowing. We’re currently wrapping up the mowing season and, with this rain, we may be done until spring.
We’re beginning leaf removal activities that will dominate our efforts over the next two months. Our trailer-mounted vacuums are ready — we’ll collect thousands of cubic yards of leaves and take them to recycling centers to be made into mulch.
