January was cold but mostly dry, ending with a record stretch of dry days. The only significant precipitation occurred on January 1st and 2nd. February is starting off cold, and the potential for snow and ice may continue through the next two weeks. Cold weather, especially when combined with snow or ice, can impact our ability to perform some of our services. Fortunately, the mostly dry January allowed us to get ahead of schedule. If we are affected over the next two weeks, there will be plenty of late winter and early spring to catch up should we fall behind. We have also begun providing snow and ice services to customers and are actively monitoring the weather, deploying as needed. Every winter brings some cold and snowy or icy conditions, so this is not out of the ordinary. Winter Weather Impact \u2022 Cold temperatures delay plant growth and some maintenance activities \u2022 Snow and ice can prevent access to some areas \u2022 Wet conditions after snowmelt can delay regular service \u2022 Some pruning activities are better performed during warmer weather Our Winter Approach \u2022 We continually monitor weather forecasts and conditions \u2022 Our teams are equipped for various winter conditions \u2022 We adjust schedules to maximize productivity during good weather \u2022 Communication with clients about weather-related delays is prioritized WE PROVIDE SNOW AND ICE SERVICES Last winter, Portland experienced one of the most significant cold, snowy, and icy spells in recent history, while Seattle was spared. Regardless, our team is prepared and ready to deploy as needed. We have developed tremendous skill and resources to handle almost any conditions that arise.
